Just remember, when downloading a .exe file you need to know the author and that you can trust them. Be sure to know that the author software is free of malware, spyware, viruses, etc... Think about what would you do if your family member wants to download a software that you aren't familiar.
Check the installation path, in some cases you'll have to change it to C:\Makena\There\ ... (etc).
